ESSENTIAL DUTIES 

  1. Performs general cleaning and janitorial duties in the common areas of the building 
  1. Assists in cleaning and sanitizing restrooms and breakroom 
  1. Ensures cleaning and maintenance supplies are stocked 
  1. Washes windows 
  1. Assists in examining facility for safety hazards 
  1. Reports deficiencies to Human Resources Department 
  1. Performs other related duties as assigned 
  1. Cleaning, stocking, and supplying designated facility areas 
  1. Dust all surfaces 
  1. Sweeps all entryways and lobby areas 
  1. Vacuums all carpeted areas 
  1. Mops entryways, lobby areas, bathrooms, and breakroom 
  1. Carries out heavy cleaning tasks and special projects 
  1. Cooperates with the rest of the staff 
  1. Follow all health and safety regulations 
  1. Assists in cleaning after celebrations or customer events throughout the year 
  1. Follows a cleaning checklist; schedules what needs to be done and maximizes efficiency and job performance 
  1. Notes potential problems either verbally or in writing 
  1. Handles unexpected problems as they arise that require extra effort or skill

SECONDARY DUTIES 

The position of Custodian performs duties specific to the position and other functions as assigned. 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY 

The position of Custodian is not responsible for the supervision of any employee(s). 

ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL ACTIVITY

The incumbent is in a non-confined office-type setting in which he or she is free to move about at will.  The position may include driving a Bank or personal owned vehicle which includes exposure to the outside weather elements and moving mechanical parts.  It may include some minor annoyances such as noise, odors, drafts, etc.  

The incumbent in the course of performing this position spends time writing, typing, speaking, listening, lifting (up to 50 pounds), driving, carrying, seeing (such as close, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and adjusted focus), sitting, pulling, walking, standing, squatting, kneeling and reaching. 

The incumbent for this position may operate any or all of the following: telephone, cellular telephone, copy and fax machines, adding machine (calculator), check protector, scanner and image systems, scanning equipment, encoder, money counter, credit card terminal, typewriter, computer, laptop computer, personal computer, and related printers, or other equipment as directed.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or with related experience and/or training preferred; or the equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Basic experience in cleaning commercial facilities 
  • Ability to take direction and listen to instructions 
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies 
  • Ability to handle heavy equipment and machinery 
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision while performing duties. 
  • Current driver’s license and a vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage if required to drive in the course of performing assigned duties and responsibilities.
